If you're an aspiring DJ, you must've realized by now that cheap equipment is usually not very efficient, while the really good gear is highly expensive.
However, combining software with hardware components might let you hone your skills at mixing music without spending a huge load of money, and one such app is DJUCED 18.
Requires certain controllers
If you're at least a bit familiar with what DJ-ing implies, you might not have any trouble understanding DJUCED 18's interface, as it provides you with standard functions, spread across the screen.
An important aspect is that its functions are not at all cluttered and display tooltips each time you hover your mouse pointer over them. The library can be easily accessed as well, and the playback controls are really easy to get.

Simulates two turntables
Like many other similar software solutions, this app comes with a double deck layout that provides you with a couple of turntables, BPM analyzers, 3-band equalizers, loops, Hot Cue, sync, a crossfader, a sampler, a step sequencer and a bunch of effects.
The configuration menu can be called by clicking the gear-shaped button in the top-right corner of the screen. Here you can adjust settings regarding audio devices, app skins, controller and keyboard mapping and recording, but you can also link a SoundCloud account for your convenience.

DJUCED 40 is the bigger cousin of DJUCED 18 since it packs a greater deal of functions and lets you perform more complex tricks whenever you feel like mixing your favorite tunes.
Requires some gear
In case you just want to test the application, you can do so by simply launching it; in case no supported controller is detected, you are granted 30 minutes to give its functions a spin.
However, if 30 minutes just don't cut it (they don't), you can provide the app with one of the following controllers: Hercules Jogvision, Hercules P32 DJ, DJControl Instinct P8, Hercules Universal DJ, Hercules RMX2, Hercules DJControlWave, Hercules DJControlWaveM3, Hercules DJ Control Air+ S Series or Hercules DJ Control Air+.
A lot of functions, tidy interface
DJUCED 40 gives you access to a lot of controls by just dropping them on the main screen. However, the interface doesn't feel cluttered at all. Bonus points if you get excited by all the buttons, dials and knobs.
The library can be easily accessed from the bottom part of the screen. Here you can either browse your computer for your favorite tracks or load the ones given by the app if you want to play around for a bit.
4-deck layout
Most DJ-ing apps come with a standard 2-deck interface, but this program encompasses four fully functional decks. The turntable interface is not available, but its absence can be quickly overlooked if you consider the other convenient functions.
For instance, you can insert sample sounds, apply audio effects directly to your tracks, tweak their sound, synchronize tunes automatically and even set Hot Cue points or loop them.
Handy configuration section
If you like tinkering, you can modify a bunch of parameters by merely clicking the gear-shaped button in the top-right corner of the screen. This summons the 'Settings' window.
Here you can adjust a bunch of settings regarding audio devices, keyboard or controller mapping, browser, mixer, record, or general ones. You can also link a SoundCloud or qobuz account if you want to.
Comprehensive DJ-ing app
All in all, if you want an advanced DJ-ing program that combines looks and efficiency, you might be lucky, as DJUCED 40 is one of the apps that do just that.
